St Vaast Post Military Cemetery, Richebourg-l'Avoue, France

The 3rd London Battalion arrived in France by a roundabout route. In September 1914 they left England for Malta where they stayed until January 1915 at which time they sailed to France to join the Dehra Dun Brigade in the Meerut Division of the Indian Army.

In June 1915, the Meerut Division were in the line in northern France in the Richebourg-St Vaast sector. On 19th June, 1915 they went into the front line trenches and on 23rd June, 1915 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon a high explosive shell landed in the trenches held by B Company which killed four men, including Lance Corporal Weaver.
